Supporting Healthcare Excellence
The Suburban Hospital Foundation, created in 1996, serves as the fundraising arm of Suburban Hospital. Each year,thousands of community members, staff, andformer patients generously contribute to Suburban Hospital’s cutting-edge stroke program, level II trauma center and emergency department, Pediatric Center,and its centers of excellence in cardiac care, orthopedics, neurosciences and oncology. Recent gifts have transformed nursing education.
The Foundation fulfills its mission by encouraging Annual Fund gifts, by actively seeking major and planned gifts, and by managing a variety of enjoyable special events.

Recent News: Quality Care Yields Fundraising Success
Excellent patient care from our physicians and other clinical staff has guaranteed the strongest fundraising year in Suburban Hospital’s history. A recent $2.5 million donation from Bethesda businessman John McMahon, a former patient of the NIH Heart Center at Suburban Hospital, follows closely on the heels of a record $6.5 million bequest from the estate of Betty Phillips, a late Chevy Chase resident.
